Garlic Breadsticks

Breadsticks are amazing, perfect to snack on when watching a long movie or as a side to Spaghetti! Here’s how you can make your own!

Here is a list of all the ingredients that you will need to make the breadstick dough!

  • 1  1/2 Cups of Warm Water
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Active Dry Yeast (One Packet if purchased from the store)
  • 4 1/4th Cups of All-Purpose Flour (You will need a little more than this to account for dusting)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Unsalted Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons of Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon of Salt

This is what you will need to make the breadstick topping!

  • 3 Tablespoons of Unsalted Butter
  • 1/2 Teaspoons of Kosher Salt
  • 1/8th to 1/4th Teaspoons of Garlic Powder
  • A pinch of Dried Oregano

Here′s how you make these breadsticks!

  1. Pour 1/4th Cups of Warm Water into a mixing bowl along with the Packet of Yeast. Let proof.
  2. Once proven, mix in the rest of the water with the Flour, Sugar, and Salt. Mix together until you have a slightly sticky dough.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until it is smooth and soft.
  4. Roll the dough out into a 2-foot long log and cut into 16 pieces. kneed and shape each piece into a breadstick. Cover and let rise, the size should be doubled. This should take around 45 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F and then brush your risen breadsticks with 1 12 Tablespoons of melted butter, sprinkle with kosher salt.
  6. Bake for around 15 minutes or until golden brown in color then take the breadsticks out of the oven and brush with the rest of the butter, garlic powder, and oregano.
