The Best Thanksgiving Dishes For Your Table

Every Thanksgiving is a great time to get together with family, friends, and loved ones. But everyone looks forward to the big feast and hanging out! Most thanksgiving meals are made up of a turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and bread rolls. People can also include green bean casserole, other vegetables, other meats, fruits, and drinks! Some people cook their meal the day before, but most people will cook it on thanksgiving day while hanging out with their family and friends. Here are some of the most common meals you all can have and as a bonus, there will be a recipe linked to each one so you can cook it yourself! Remember, it’s not a true thanksgiving unless you’re absolutely stuffed and you physically can’t eat any extra food!

The Thanksgiving Turkey, Stuffing, and Gravy

If you ask me, there’s not much on this planet that can top a freshly cooked Thanksgiving turkey. It’s just an amazing bird to eat! It tastes great, has a big hole that you can stuff loads of foods in, it has so many ways of cooking it, and you can take a big nap after cleaning your plate! Turkey can be braised, roasted, deep-fried, pressure-cooked, and even grilled! There are endless combinations of spices and herbs you can put on it and it goes well with a lot of different foods! We’ve come up with a nice thanksgiving turkey recipe that you can find here!

And you can’t just leave that big gaping turkey hole empty! Fill it with stuffing! Stuffing is an absolutely needed addition to your thanksgiving dinner, so whip it up, stuff it in, cook it, and eat it all!

What kind of person would have turkey without gravy? That act should be considered a crime against humanity. Gravy makes pretty much everything even better after you slather a river of it on top. It goes amazingly well with turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing!

Bread Rolls

Now there are multiple side dishes someone can have when whipping up the big Thanksgiving meal. But we all really want bread rolls. You can dip them in gravy, tear it apart and eat it, you can even cut a roll in half and make a little turkey sandwich! Topped with butter and a little bit of salt and these rolls will be gone within seconds!

Mashed Potatoes and Gravy

Mashed potatoes are amazing. You can add whatever herbs and spices that you want, you can use whatever kind of potato that you want! It’s a great dish that is creamy, buttery, and tasty! Add in some pepper, salt, garlic, or other herbs to be the talk of the table and to get people asking for this recipe! Here’s the recipe for these garlic mashed potatoes so you can make them!

Candied Yams

Candied Yams, the sweeter brother to your usual mashed potatoes and gravy! Candied yams, or sweet potatoes, are an orange potato that has a sweet and nutty flavor. While mashed potatoes are covered in gravy, candied yams are covered in marshmallows! Put into the oven, the marshmallows will melt and cover your potatoes in a thick white layer of amazing fluff, but you can also put in a little less or use smaller marshmallows and it’ll turn into a clear glaze!

Green Bean Casserole

One of my favorite dishes to eat when Thanksgiving rolls around is the Green Bean Casserole! This dish is a simple one to make but one that tastes so awesome. The recipe we have for you all today includes green beans, mushrooms, garlic, breadcrumbs, all-purpose flour, half and half cream, nutmeg, salt, and pepper! Be sure to check it out and cook up a meal your family will love!

The Awesome Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie

There is absolutely no way you can have thanksgiving without having a pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie is the most iconic dish for thanksgiving besides the turkey for very good reason. Pumpkin pie is amazing, it’s the best! It’s sweet, it has that lovely pumpkin flavor, it has a nice crust, and it’s a pie!
