Chicken Marsala is an Italian-American dish made from chicken breast and Marsala wine!

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • All-purpose flour
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste (YOu can use whatever kind of salt that you desire.)
  • 1/4th Cup of Olive Oil (You can use Extra-Virgin or just normal Olive Oil, it\\\'s up to you.)
  • 4 Ounces of Proscuitto
  • 8 Ounces of Mushrooms (Crimini, Porcini, or Button mushrooms go well with this dish. Remove their stems and slice them in half.)
  • 1/2 Cup of sweet Marsala wine
  • 1/2 Cup of chicken stock
  • 2 Tablespoons of unsalted butter (You can use salted or unsalted butter.)
  • 1/4th cup of chopped flat-leaf parsley

Recipe

  1. Flatten your chicken breasts until they are about 1/4th of an inch thick.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add flour along with a decent amount of freshly ground black pepper and salt, mix together.
  3. In a large skillet, heat up your oil. Once heated up, you want to dredge both sides of your chicken into the flour.
  4. Fry for 5 minutes on each side for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Only flip it one time. Once cooked, move your chicken to a separate plate.
  5. Add your prosciutto to the skillet and saute. Add your mushrooms and saute for 5 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper. Pour the Marsala into the skillet and boil it down for a few seconds to cook out the alcohol.
  7. Add chicken stock and simmer to reduce the sauce. Stir in the butter and add your chicken back.
  8. Simmer gently for a minute then season with salt and pepper to your liking. Add your garnish and serve.
